Juliet

A character I find interesting in Romeo and Juliet is Juliet. Juliet is first introduced as  her mother is telling her that she will be married to Count Paris. She says that it's an honor she never dreamed of.  We see her again when she and Romeo meet for the first time. After that she changes. She's concerned about what Romeo says about their marriage.

When we fist meet Juliet she seems rational  She doesn't think much  about her marriage to Count Paris. But then she meets Romeo. She seems to be okay with it only because her parents want it. When she meets Romeo  and falls in love with him she still seems rational. For example when Romeo sneaks to her house to see her she tells him that if he's found he'll be killed. The only rash decision I think that she made so far was that she and Romeo decide to get married right after they meet. However when Juliet hears about Romeo killing her cousin Tybalt she's a mess of emotions. First she curses Romeo for killing her cousin. Then she's grieving over the fact that Romeo has been banished. She then defends Romeo for Tybalt's death saying that had he (romeo) not killed Tybalt then the latter would have killed former instead. 

Something we can pick up from this play so far is that love and hate are linked together. The Montague's  and Capulet's hated each other. Yet their only children meet and fall in love. Because Romeo and Juliet fell in love they couldn't live without each other and they both change. People are like that. They  love or they hate and either of those emotions change them for better or for worse. It depends on the situation. 

why do we hate?

 Shakespeare's Play Romeo and Juliet is about two young people who meet and fall in love. So far in the story some of the Montagues's srvants and some of the Capulet's servants get into  a fight. Benvolio (Romeo's cousin) comes to stop it ans then Tybalt (Juliet's cousin) comes and try's to make him fight. The prince comes and tells both families if this happens again both of them will lose their lives for the sake of peace. Meanwhile Romeo is depressed because he was in love with Rosaline Juliet's cousin. Romeo's friends convince him to go to Capulet's party becuuse Rosaline is there. He meets Juliet there and they fall in love.

One thing that really sticks to me is how Tybalt really hates the Montagues. When Benvolio tries to stop the servants from both families from fighting Tybalt comes and  says "What, drawn and talk of peace? I hate the word As I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee." He really hates them  as he tried to get Benvolio to fight him. I think Shakepseare is trying to show us how deep hatred can run. He shows us how it affects Tybalt. He uses Tybalt as a character full of hate whoes always trying to stir up trouble.

I think that this kind of thing isn't rare. People can hold grudes for a long time. People like Tybalt aren't rare. They're pretty common.
